The Blue Spring and Te Waihou Walkway rivals other great walks in New Zealand, not for its length, but the sheer beauty of the trail. While it is fairly easy walking, proper shoes are encouraged over sandals. Prams and wheelchairs are not possible on steeper parts of the trail.

Swimming in the Blue Spring and surrounding area is discouraged as it is damaging the environment.
